International Type Approval

International type approval is a process of obtaining a conformity certificate issued by a government agency in a third country outside of Europe, North America, and other countries. It is to allow the product to enter the market in compliance with technical standards (laws). It is essential to obtain certification prior to commencement of export and shipment to the export partner country. CSL Korea provides prior information and services regarding the acquisition process related to all the certifications and declarations for each product.

• When selling automobiles and automobile parts in Europe, the E mark must undergo a certification process in accordance with the requirements of the EU Directive/Regulation and UN-ECE Regulation, and the e-mark or E-mark can be affixed to products for which the procedure has been completed.

What is the difference of E mark and e mark?

• e mark(lower case e) is recognized in European community only per Directive 72/245/EEC with amendment 2004/104/EC and 2009/19/EC by EU.

• E mark(upper case E) is recognized worldwide including in European community per ECE Regulation by UN.

The development of wireless communication technology is achieved through evaluation of mutual compatibility and characteristics of the technology, use of the technology's logo, promotion in the market, and buyer's demands. In case of devices with Bluetooth technology, it is mandatory to obtain Bluetooth SIG certification through official organization regardless of using its logo. Even though Wi-Fi alliance is not mandatory, many companies are accepting it considering the marketability and the image of technology.
